Hey guys!

Welcome back to part 2 of this series where I take you behind the scenes of how we create every piece at NO1 APPARELS.

Behind the Scenes at NO1 APPARELS

If you're new here, we’re an anime apparel shop that makes subtle anime clothing that feels like streetwear first and anime second. A lot of you discovered us while searching for subtle anime merch, anime clothing or even apparel anime that you can integrate into your daily fashion rotation, so I thought it’d be fun to peel back the curtain and show you the thought process behind ever design.

Today’s episode is about our upcoming Demon Slayer shirt, and honestly, this one has been living in our heads for years.

Why This Demon Slayer Shirt means so much to us:

The idea hit us again right after watching the Infinity Castle movie. We walked out of the theatre completely fired up. You know that feeling when a show ends and your brain just refuses to shut up? That was us. Our heads were filled with scenes, symbols, emotions and somehow all of that led back to one thing: the Demon Slayer Corps uniform.

There’s something about that big 滅 on the back that always stuck with us. Even before we started NO1, I remember thinking, “This is such a clean and powerful symbol, why has nobody made a wearable version of this yet?”

The Meaning Behind the 滅 Symbol

For anyone who might not know, 滅 means destroy or annihilate, which sums up the entire mission of the Corps. It’s strong, it’s direct, and it carries so much meaning without needing a single word of explanation. It’s the kind of detail that can make Demon Slayer clothing/Demon Slayer apparel so memorable without being over the top.

We’ve always loved this design because it’s so simple but so full of purpose. And honestly, we’ve waited for years to see a clean, wearable version of it. Something minimal. Something you can wear anywhere. Something that doesn’t look like cosplay. And after waiting way too long with nothing to show for it, we finally decided to make it ourselves. That’s why this piece is one of the centrepieces of our next drop. Bringing Tanjiro's Demon Slayer Mark into the design

But the 滅 alone wasn’t enough. We wanted something that felt like it belonged now. Something that tied the symbol to where the anime has currently progressed to.

So we brought in Tanjiro’s Demon Slayer Mark.

Just a quick recap: the Demon Slayer Mark used to be common during the Sengoku era, the golden age of Demon Slayers. But in the current era, no one could awaken it until Tanjiro did. That alone says so much about who he is and the role he plays in carrying the Corps forward.

Combining the 滅 motif with Tanjiro’s Mark was our way of connecting the past and present of Demon Slayer. It’s a reminder that the Corps’s mission lives on through him. The timeless symbol, powered by the heart of the one character who embodies everything the story stands for.

Who This Design Is Made For

This isn’t just another demon slayer shirt added for the sake of it. This design came from passion, nostalgia and honestly, a lot of waiting. It’s subtle anime merch for people who want something meaningful without being loud. It’s the kind of anime inspired clothing that blends into your daily style but still hits you emotionally the moment you look at it.
Designed for those who want Demon Slayer clothes that stay subtle, minimal, and wearable anywhere.

If you’ve been searching for demon slayer shirts that feel more minimal and premium, or if you’re building a wardrobe of subtle anime clothing you can actually wear anywhere, this one was made with you in mind.

We’ve also noticed more people searching for animeclothing as a whole, and that’s exactly the gap we want to fill with pieces like this. Clothes that feel subtle, meaningful and wearable while still paying respect to the anime that shaped us.

Closing Thoughts

Our next drop is slated for sometime around mid December and will feature designs from Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan and One Piece. If you already cannot wait, you can check out the current designs that are still available. My personal favorite is our Set Your Heart Ablaze tee which is running really low.

And we’re only just getting started.

Love,
NO1 Team
